Dear Parents
Following the recent national publication of the end of Key Stage 2 data for last academic year, I am now able to compare the position of Leigh Academy Horsmonden to that of other schools within Kent.
In July, I wrote to parents to celebrate our exceptional results and shared the table below, showing how well we performed nationally.
Now, the individual school comparison data has been published, I am thrilled to report that Leigh Academy Horsmonden is in the top 2.5% of primary schools in Kent for the end of KS2 data for last academic year.

Year 5
As known by children and parents in Year 5, Mrs Stockbridge will soon be relocating to London to be closer to her family. We’re sorry to say goodbye, but we’re thrilled that she’s accepted a promotion to Assistant Headteacher and SENCo at a large London school. Mrs Stockbridge has been an excellent teacher at Horsmonden, and we wish her every success in her new position.
Today, Year 5 met their new teacher, Miss Warwood who will start formally in January. Miss Warwood enjoyed spending the day at Horsmonden, in particular, getting to know the children and meeting some of the Year 5 parents.
Clubs Reminder
Our range of curricular clubs will start the first full week back after Christmas and below you will find out what’s on offer to be booked. Please pay attention to the dates, as not all clubs will run every week.
Teacher run clubs cost £3.00 per session and must be paid for as a block, in advance through MCAS. Clubs will open for booking on MCAS at 8am Tuesday 7th January and close at 3:30pm on Thursday 9th January. Please ensure children are booked into their chosen club during this time to avoid disappointment. Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

FoHPS
Once again, I am incredibly grateful to our amazing parent team – FoHPS!! The team is small but the events they plan are mighty! Last week was no exception where all children enjoyed a visit to Santa’s Grotto which was beautifully decorated ready for their arrival. In addition, the Christmas Present Fair was brilliantly organised and run. All children took part and were able to choose gifts from a wide selection. Thank you to everyone that helped on the day to make it a success for the children!
