Trust Parent Survey Feedback March 2024

Dear Parents

I am delighted to share the results of the Trust Parent Survey, with a particular highlight being 93% of parents that contributed confirmed they would recommend Horsmonden Primary Academy to another parent. Thank you to everyone who answered the survey. I am grateful for your honesty and ideas for improvement. 

Below you will find the breakdown of the results. 

Q1. The International Baccalaureate curriculum (MYP, PYP, IBCP) at the school has had a positive impact on my child/children

• Class whiteboards keep parents up to date on a weekly basis

Q9 The school has high expectations for my child

Response

• Our curriculum is mapped using the National Curriculum subjects but framed using the International Baccalaureate which is an inquiry based approach that encourages independent thinking and a deeper understanding – please see our website for more information. 
• All staff have high expectations of behaviour, dress, presentation and quality of work, as well as the condition of the building, school facilities and attendance.

• There are 2 formal Parent Consultation meetings every year, November and March where parents are informed of their child’s attainment in English reading, writing and Maths
• End of year reports are sent out every July to inform parents of their child’s end of year attainment as well as sharing targets for the following year
• We have an ‘open door’ policy where teachers are happy to meet with parents to discuss progress/attainment/arising concerns as and when necessary

Overall, I am delighted with the results and I am grateful to parents for completing the survey honestly.  Thank you to those of you who wrote specific comments sharing your opinions and feedback. As you’re aware, I am always open to suggestions and ideas to help improve Horsmonden Primary Academy for our children.
